Tuesday, March 14
  • Presentation: Archaeology, Artifacts, Time Periods, and Camp Safety
  • Gallery tour of south gallery
  • Break (Water, granola bars, apples, bananas provided)
  • Short film: Gila Cliff Dwellings with introduction by Museum Director
  • Surveying archaeological sites outdoor activity
  • Craft: Pottery reconstruction

Wednesday, March 15
  • Gallery tour of north gallery
  • Scavenger hunt
  • Break (Water, granola bars, apples, bananas provided)
  • Introduction / Mock Excavation
  • Craft: Pinch pots

Thursday, March 16
  • Introduction to day’s activities 
  • Flint knapping demonstration.  Each child will receive a free arrowhead!
  • Break (Water, granola bars, apples, bananas provided)
  • Atl-atl and archery activity outdoors(Supervised by adult instructors and museum staff)
  • Short film: Hueco Tanks State Park
  • Craft: Desert animal effigy puppets 
  • Discussion on optional outing to Hueco Tanks on Friday

Friday, March 17 – OPTIONAL FIELD TRIP TO HUECO TANKS STATE HISTORIC SITE
(Parents must arrange for transportation to and from Hueco Tanks)
  • Visit Hueco Tanks State Historic Site and learn about ancient paintings left by Native Americans!
  • A member of museum staff and Hueco Tanks park staff will be there to lead tour
